The Great Invitation: Doing Holiness
"The Great Invitation: Doing Holiness" from 10:30am Sunday Service Sermons by Rev. Jessica B. Naulty. Released: 2017. Last week, we heard some tough teachings from Jesus about anger, reconciliation, respect, adultery, divorce, and honesty. We unpacked these challenging words by talking about moving beyond simply doing “good enough,” living by the laws and rules of our religion, and instead “falling in love with the lifestyle” that Jesus taught, living out the love of God in every aspect of our lives. We talked about what makes for healthy relationships, and we lifted in prayer the relationships in our lives that are suffering. Today, we pick up where we left off in the Sermon on the Mount to see what else Jesus’ message holds for us

The Great Invitation: This, Not That
"The Great Invitation: This, Not That" from 10:30am Sunday Service Sermons by Rev. Jessica B. Naulty. Released: 2017. Since the beginning of the New Year, we’ve been spending time in worship hearing from Jesus as he interacts with – calls - and teaches his early disciples. Over the last two weeks, we’ve heard Jesus teaching within the Sermon on the Mount about who is blessed in the Kingdom of God and how we are called to be salt and light, shining brightly for all to see the glory of God revealed in us. Starting today, we’ll spend the last two weeks of our series on some of the more challenging teachings of Jesus to see what we can learn from them for our faith journeys...

The Great Invitation: Salt, Light and Righteousness Abounding
"The Great Invitation: Salt, Light and Righteousness Abounding" from 10:30am Sunday Service Sermons by Rev. Jessica B. Naulty. Released: 2017. Last week, we joined Jesus and his disciples at the top of the mountain and listened to hear more about God’s kingdom and who God calls blessed. We heard Jesus share that EVERYONE no matter the situations they face, no matter their beliefs or convictions, EVERYONE is called blessed by God – and it is not our job to judge, but simply to love in spite of the differences that usually separate us. This week, we pick up where we left off within the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew’s gospel, listening for Jesus’ instructions and guidance...

    The Great Invitation: Blessed
"Sunday Sermon" from 10:30am Sunday Service Sermons by Rev. Jessica B. Naulty. Released: 2017. I’ve discovered over the past year or two that teaching children manners is fun and challenging… and with my girls… often adorable. The phrase “God bless you” is one that my girls now have down… to the point where if they sneeze and I don’t say it quick enough, after giving me the eye, they say, “Bless me!” Like, “fine, if you’re not going to bless me, then I will!” It’s as if they intrinsically KNOW the value and benefit of being blessed, and can’t wait to receive it! Blessings are something we don’t usually think about…

    The Great Invitation: Follow Me
"Sunday Sermon" from 10:30am Sunday Service Sermons by Rev. Jessica B. Naulty. Released: 2017.Today we move into the third week of our worship series, “The Great Invitation.” We began by talking about baptism, first Jesus’ and then ours… how our baptisms extend from the moment of sprinkling into a vocational call that is lived out our whole lives long. Last week, we overheard John the Baptist testifying to others about who Jesus was, and we saw how Jesus called those seeking after him to “Come and See”, to experience for themselves the journey of discipleship...

The Great Invitation: Come and See
"The Great Invitation: Come and See" from 10:30am Sunday Service Sermons by Rev. Jessica B. Naulty. Released: 2017. Last week, we began our series, “The Great Invitation” as we celebrated the Baptism of our Lord. We heard how Jesus accepted his call to ministry, as he entered those baptismal waters, and we explored how our baptisms are not only a means of grace in that one moment of sprinkling, but a vocational call that is lived out our whole lives long. Over the next six-weeks, we will hear as Jesus calls and teaches his disciples...
